Local notes
Newcastle is a village on Lake Ontario at the east edge of Clarington, with its main street on King Avenue and a marina at the Port of Newcastle. It is the quietest of the three Clarington communities and the furthest from Toronto.
Highway 401 and the 35/115 interchange are right beside the village, so the drive to Peterborough and the Kawarthas is short. There is no GO service planned past Bowmanville.
Housing is a mix of older village homes, 2000s subdivisions, and newer builds near the waterfront. People choosing Newcastle usually want the lake and the small town more than the commute.
